About my trip to Waitsfield Vermont
Vermont surprised me with its beauty. I loved the small town feel of Waitsfield, but still with a lot of easy go-to resources so I didn’t feel like I was in the middle of nowhere. It was right next to Mad River, which brings me to why I came. I was photographing a wedding at Mad River Barn, but came a couple days early to enjoy the area and take some photos of beautiful spots. I traveled up to Stowe & Burlington and took some landscapes on film. I spent a whole day driving for hours listening to music, and getting out of my car to take the occasional photo.
I stayed in a 200 year old school house I found on Airbnb. It was the cutest little cabin. Refurbished and filled with quaint antiques and treasures. I loved the little kitchen and cooking while looking out the window onto the big empty property. Yes, I was basically in a cabin in the middle of the woods, alone, in a most likely haunted 200 year old house, and I was pretty freaking terrified. I could hardly sleep. I loved the place during the day, but at night I could hardly shut my eyes. I learned my lesson! No more creepy cabins alone!
The cabin had a beautiful lush garden full of veggies outside. The landowner told me to help myself to any of the food in the garden.
I used mostly Fuji Superia 400 and some expired film. I also used FPP COLOR Infrared Film produced by Film Photography Project. You will see the photos below. It detects infrared light and turns it a pink color! Its so unique.
