About St. Thomas, Water Island USVI
We met this amazing couple on airbnb ! We stayed in their beautiful hillside Villa on Water Island, which overlooks St. Thomas USVI. It was something out of a movie, such a gorgeous little island. It is full of gorgeous private villas, homes, and really nothing else. It is a hilly tropical paradise with a population of around just 150 people. There are only two restaurants on the whole island, no stores, no gas stations, nothing else, which was perfect for us to enjoy a nice quiet vacation! Both reasturants had amazing food. Dinghys was our go to food and drink spot. Awesome food and drinks, and kind staff who became friends! It is located right on Honeymoon Beach with a gorgeous sunset view and a backdrop of St. Thomas and all its tropical covered mountains. Heidi's was the other restaurant, in the same location on the same beach. They also have amazing sandwiches and burgers and are tucked away in a nice, quiet area on the beach. The island is covered in succulents and cactuses!
About the engagement shoot
Tiffany & Chris were amazing hosts and also had the most friendly dog ever! We had so much fun hanging out with them, eating food, having cocktails, and taking pictures. They became our friends in that short time and were down to earth and genuine people. I contacted them before our trip to see if they would let me take engagement photos for my portfolio while I was on vacation. I put together some ideas and tropical outfit inspirations. Before we started I made a crown of leaves I found on a tree, as well as a necklace to match. We went to limestone beach, the ground was literally just pieces of coral that washed up. I found so many pretty rocks and little coral pieces. We used some freshly cut up mango from their backyard tree, and a bunch of other local wildlife as props! It ended up coming together magically. You cant go wrong with mountain backdrops, a sunset, and a tropical island.
